KCLSU Guy’s – Student Research
Brief:
Carry out student research across the student community, in order to effectively inform the Guy’s Bar refurbishment project, with the express aim of improving its commercial offering, and maximising revenue opportunities by improving the student experience. A key concern for the project was to maintain the ethos and history of the venue while ensuring the space has the flexibility to appeal to students during the day as well as the night to increase income streams.
Results:
“Nina worked on the original Guy’s Bar refurbishment in 2015, so she already had a deep understanding of the emotional attachment, culture and values Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ students hold for Guy’s Bar. She also appreciated our need to increase daytime trade and reduce our reliance on our Wednesday Sport’s club night. The resulting research, and recommendations were of the highest quality and really helped to inform the project and ensure the project was student led. I would highly recommend Nina to any students’ union or university looking to refurbish or develop their commercial and social spaces.”
